This Blog may look funny

I'm undergoing a move over to a wordpress journal in some sort of communal hippie web shit with my friends, so things might look weird. I'll post the new address when it's all finished.

Review #66: Ween :God Ween Satan

Why did it take me so long to hear this album. I mean, everyone should own it, and by that token, I should've heard it by now. I bought it used wich means some douche-bag actually SOLD it! I want to ask this album to the prom, date during college, have a trial speration while we experiment then get back together get married and have two kids. It's that good.

Review # 65: This guy sitting across from me at the library

man, he's cute.

Review # 64: Scuttlebutt's Homeport Blonde

This stuff is tasty. I drank three bottlesand got a decent buzz. I didn't have a headache or anything the next morning despite smoking a few cigarettes with the beers. (the photo is of a 22oz bottle, but I had a 6er of 12ozers)

Review# 63: Andre's Champaign

It's a helluva lot cheaper than the rest and does the trick just fine.

Review # 62: Ballard public library on a monday right after they open at 1pm

I got here fairly early yesterday in the hopes of using the internet, but apperently the summer sun brings people out in droves. They proceeded to swarm around Ballard like so many maggots on a dead carcass baking in the summer heat. I didn't get to use the internet at all and then had to go to work. I was lucky today, but I still have to go to work.

Review #61: Ceaser salads

Man, those things are good. I decided to stick to mostly greenery today after eating 3/4 of a pound (after cooking) of teryaki marinated steak at work yesterday.

review# 60:Ichioro's (taiwan and japaneese food) in Seattle's U District

This place was great. Maybe it sucked, and the company I had at the time just made it seem cool, but this place was great. I got some deep fried pork that came with rice , salad, and miso soup, all of which was delectable. The pork (I forget what it was actually called) came with teryaki dipping sauce that was wonderful. The prices weren't bad, either. I had such a great time. I can't wait until I get to do it again.

Review # 59: Basic Instinct 2

The first Basic Instinct was one of the best movies I've ever seen. It was directed by the guy who did Showgirls, also one of the best movies I've ever seen to a much lesser extent. But this sequel was sort of boring. Much less killing, much more sex. The first one had a perfect balance of the two, but this one just went straight for the libido. The plot was watered down because of this and I didn't really care what happened to anyone.

Review #58: Marvel Gumball-machine Bobbleheads Series 2

As far as bobble heads go, these suck. Any minature bobblehead is bound to not work, especially since regular sized bobbleheads hardly bounce at all. Still, I think these things are pretty cool as little statuettes. I get them for a dollar a pop from the gumball machine at the bowling alley. Amazingly I only got a duplicate once, another Wolverine, but my friend Nate got Blackcat, so I traded him. The only one I'm missing now is Beast who looks really cool in his cat form. They come with a sticky adhesive pad that I've used to stick them along the top of my computer monitor. There is a spot saved for Beast.

Review # 58: Cutting my own hair

Most people would probably say that I didn't need a haircut, but it was just getting too long for me. I need my hair short, very short. I would shave it all, but I'm trying to keep a little on the top to disguise the fact that in five years I will have started well down the road to baldness. I started cutting my hair years ago because it was cheap. Now I have a friend who could do it for me, she's a professional, but our schedules don't really allow for it very easily and I got the urge to start trimming this morning. I've learned that I'm actually pretty good at cutting my own hair. In fact the best cut I ever gave myself was while drunk. I wasn't drunk today, but I still look pretty damn good.

Review # 57: Red potatoes

I asked my friend what I should have with my steak last night. and his suggestion was red potatoes. I tried them, preparing them as he suggested...quartered, boiled, peppered, and soaked in melted butter. They weren't bad, but they still seemed a little bland. I may try them again with other seasonings and/or cooking methods. They can't beat yukon golds, though.

Review # 56: Anchorman

I've wanted to see this for a while because I'd heard good things about it but I only got around to it last night. I have to admit it was pretty good. A lot of good jokes and some decent looking guys: Steve Carell, Chris Parnel, the sports caster with the cowboy hat, even Tim Robbins. I also really liked the rest of the cast except for one person... Will Farrel. Not since Jim Carrey has america championed the comic genius of a loud moronic simpleton who's only talent is to disassociate himself from reality and somehow get the girl. Despite how much I hated the lead actor of this movie, it was still pretty good.

review #55: A scanner Darkly

Having the name Philip means that anyone who is a Philip K. Dick fan will ask you if you've ever read his books. When you say no, they tell you you should. So, I've heard of the guy. Having not read any of his books, I didn't know what the hell this movie was about. But some friends of mine were going and I tagged along. These friends were PKD fans, and would talk about him, but they didn't try to sell me on his work, wich I appreciated. From what I knew about PKD, the one thing I expected from this movie was to not know what was going on. It helps if you just remind yourself that the main character is crazy, having taken too much Substance-D, a fictional, highly-addictive drug. By that token, all of the other characters are crazy, too. There is what seems to be a coherent plot, but thankfully no moral lesson. At the end there is a message from PKD in memorium of his friends, but I can't tell what exactly he's trying to say. The cast was really strange...we had Keanu, who I think it is universally agreed that he simply can't act, Wynonna Ryder and Robert downey Jr, who got caught stealing and went drug crazy (respectivley)and also can't act, and Woody harrelson, who...well, what the hell has he done latley. Even in this movie some of my friends compared his role to that of Jar Jar Binks; not only was it not necessary, but the movie would've been better without it. And I swear I thought the voice Keanus COp boss was Tim Allen, but the credits say Sean Allen. A relative? This whole movie is done in a bizzare animation-over-film that was done in "the waking life", only this time it seems more detailed. maybe advancment in technology, I dont know. It is fun to watch, especially the parts with the scramble suits wich I can't even begin to describe. Parts can get really intense, again, especially parts with the scramble suits. There are also some humorous scenes that I don't think could've been pulled off with regular film. One suggestion when watching this movie....makle sure you're in a theatre with comfortable seats. The Egyptian didn't have them.

Review # 54: Nutter Butter 4 pack

Nutter Butters are indeed one of the best cookies ever concocted. Much sugarier and chock full of preservatives that regular peanut butter cookies, and you don't have to worry about biting into anything even close to a real peanut. The peanut butter flavor is as far removed from real peanut butter as Reese's. It's a lot like an Oreo that tastes like peanut butter instead of...an oreo. This hand four pack is relativley cheap and satiates and cravings. I got mine on clearence at work for 29 cents.
